Meet our beautiful client Leanne. A successful lawyer and thriving entrepreneur in her 50’s living in downtown Toronto. Leanne contacted our team and was desperate to leave the winter behind. I can’t blame her, it’s been a long winter in the Greater Toronto Area!
She requested our Toronto makeup artist and hair styling team for a “spring refresh makeover!” Leanne was heading out for a very important event and wanted to look her best.
Below are the products used to achieve this fresh spring makeover.
A good makeover has to start with a proper skin prep
Leanne has great skin and it was simply a matter of adding light layers of a good moisturizer and then choosing the right foundation formulation that would make her skin not only look glowy but give her long lasting results.
We prepped her skin using….
Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentre which provides moisture as well as a primer and we also added a little MAC Strobe Cream to her cheeks which gave her skin a pretty glow. Two Faced Eyeshadow Primer was also used to prime her eyelids prior to the eyeshadow application.
The makeup colours used were the best for Leanne’s skin tone
On Leanne’s skin we used Face Atelier Ultra Foundation #2 as her base/foundation along with NYX HD concealer in Fair.
The Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette was used on her blue eyes. She asked for a little drama and we achieved this look by blending matte and sheen eye shadow formulations together. This gave a soft smokey effect that really made her eyes pop. Individual lashes from Ardell were then inserted to give her lashes a more fluttery effect.
Nothing says spring like a flush of colour on the cheeks so we used a peachy pink NARS blush called Amour. Her skin tone loved this colour!
We highlighted her skin with Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Champagne Pop.
Her lips were given a fresh spring colour called Mia from Joe Blasco.
Let’s talk hair!
Hair prep is what makes a style not only look good but last for hours. Leanne’s locks were prepped with a texture spray from Redken.
The most effective way to create full natural looking curls is to use more than one size curling tool. With Leanne’s hair we used 2 different curling rods. One was 1 inch and the other was 1.5 inches. We split the hair in 3 sections and rotated the curling rods between each section. This technique provided a full bouncy curl.
Adding in a little Redken Volumizing and Hair Texture Powder to the roots of her hair gave the lift and fullness she loved. We set her hair style with a good spray (or two!) of Redken hairspray.
